hh over R66
Rd1 started a little lopsided. The red community (R66) started out with 4 players. The captain (arod) of the blue squadron (.hh) allowed them a ringer, but they refused to give in to such evil deeds. Within minutes, i heard a growling sound coming from yeknom's microphone. I figured that this was just a quirk in half-life team fortress classic's voice communication capabilities. After investigating further, I came across the novel idea that yeknom from the blue squadron spelled monkey when you switch the letters around backwards. After I investigated the growling sound in the mic, the blue squadron's offenders began throwing green boxes at me. I could not dodge these green boxes despite a valiant effort. After gaining much needed momentum from these green boxes, I began hurling insults over the voice communication system. RED ALERT!!! The red troops managed to capture the blue squadrons flag receiving 40 points from the Official Team Fortress Classic Scorekeeper. The blue squadron received 360 points from the same scorekeeper. -arod.hh
Round 2 was more even to start; hh replaced burn for the strange monkey creature on defense, and myself for the greek warrior on offense. In this round, the defense did not allow a cap, although I saw our flag outside at one time. Shaft again continued with the multitude of capping, while I sat and distracted the defense (HEY! Shoot me!). The opposing defense began a two sentry strategy that greatly slowed our attack. After falling in the lava multiple times, and dying with the flag in the pit on only one occasion (a grand accomplishment for me), I was able to get two other 20-point caps, while shaft severely spanked me in the head to head contest. Good game to Route 66!
