Our STA 5v team has had its share of tight matches in the recent past, and there was no reason to think that this match again Annihilation Krew would be any different. Technically the match did not ?matter? as we were already guaranteed a spot in the title match next week. Before we get to the match though, a little prematch goodies. We forgot to put Kenitals on the roster, and ?ak said he could play only if we played openfire. But openfire sucks and we need practice on 2chemical for the title match next week, so instead we just prayed that someone would show before match time. And lucky for us, Unborn got his computer set up at his new place, turned it on and got on IRC to find out that he was playing HWGuy tonight. (To the dismay of his girlfriend) So we get underway. . . The capping started out slowly with teams trading their first caps at around the 9 minute mark. ?ak got their next one at 11:30, and TFCC wasn?t far behind at 13 mins. But .ak took their one cap lead back less than 30 seconds later. Then the defense switched some things up, and TFCC had 20 of the next 21 flag touches, squeaking one out to tie the game at the 19 minute mark. A little more than a minute later, Duck comes home with another to put TFCC up a cap, and a quick recap from that 20 seconds later gave TFCC a 2 cap lead. Their offense finally figured out the defensive switch and got one out at the 24:30 minute mark, but less than a minute later the lead was back to 2. Both clans were fighting to get the flag out while the clock was counting down, and ?ak managed at the 29 minute mark, but TFCC was unable to get the flag off ?ak?s battlements and the lead was 1 at the end of round 1. Round 1 TFCC over ?ak 60-50 Round 2 was weird. After having the offense fight for every cap in round 1, round 2 the defense?s were just hanging on for dear life. The caps were coming fast and furious, and I think at one point, ?ak was up two caps, which would give them the overall victory. TFCC?s offense and defense came through though, holding them off long enough to get things back to a one cap deficit and send us into OVERTIME! Round 2 ?ak over TFCC 120-110 Unborn?s girlfriend Marcia was not happy to hear that he would be playing in an overtime round, but UF has always described her as sweet and understanding among other things, so I?m sure she understands that he was doing TFCC a huge favor by playing. And overtime got underway fast and furious. TFCC had two defensive members spawn up top, while ?ak had all three. ?ak got the first touch of OT, but 60 seconds later the flag returned as the defense held firm. TFCC then caught a break, as Knock made it into the flag room untouched, with only the demo there. A couple of shottys and grens later, the demo died, just as Duck entered the flag room through the water pipe. The soldiers rocket pushed him towards the exit, and a conc did the rest of the work, getting him out of there with little life, but with the flag. TFCC wins 180-170 Excellent match ?ak, they cannot get any closer than that. TFCC also is now prepared for whatever may come next week after the craziness this week! Participating: Unborn, Spam, Keg, Duck and Knock Want to see the winning cap? http://hosted.filefront.com/KnockKnock
