4w over |RES|
Res, it was more than a pleasure to finally play you guys in an official match. Avanti is a strange map, where you don't know until the absolute end who the winner is. Because of this, I no longer have any hair. Not only did I rip out all my hair due to worry and frustration, I grew more hair in the middle of the match just to rip it out again. This literally was the best and closest game I've ever played. Thank you again Res.
Round 1, 4w starts as offense.
Res had a great initial set up, and each time they'd hold one longer than we could. This put the big worry on myself and my clanmates, which is not a good way to start a match. We had a few coordinated demo launches, which helped cap 2. Res also has a keen knack of getting everyone on their team to constantly spam the flag, which is something 4w needs to pick up on.
Near the end of the match, we were down a few points as we capped #4, and went to defense. I kept praying our score would tick up, and just as it went 160 to match Res' score, round 1 ended.
Rd1 Score - 160:160
Rd2- 4w starts as defense
After a short intermition, we decided to switch up how we defended cap 1, as we weren't holding it that long. It seemed to help, but half way through the game whenever we would cap 4, I noticed that our score was significantly lower than Res'. I'm still trying to figure out how we ended up winning, and I think we played a great game but we were extremely lucky that the match ended just as the gate had opened. If Res had capped 1, which they normally do very quickly, the game would have been theirs.
Rd2 Score - 144:136, 4w with the win.
Again, thank you so much Res for a great game, and I hope we scrim each other in the future to prepare for other matches, as we are very closely matched skill wise. It was a pleasure and an honor to play with you.
