4w over FpS
Wow. It seems like every time I write a match recap, I say That was the closest game I've ever played. I'll say it again, because this really was the closest game I've ever played.
Round 1 - 4w offense.
We came out of the gates and right into a flag room full of sgs. FpS did a wonderful job keeping the cathedral clear of 4ws, much better than we did. Eventually I figured out there was another way to get in that room than through 2 HWs and 3 SGs, and started to get the SGs from behind. Basically FpS would hold each flag for about 10 points, so it was a close match all the way through. After about 500 mirvs we managed to take round one by only 2 points.
Score - 4w - 74 : FpS - 72
Round 2 - 4w defense.
FpS came out so strong and quickly, that half our team was unprepared and thought they teleported through the gates, which weren't there, which weren't supposed to be there! We didn't hold the first 2 flags at all, and when the turnabout came, we were down 20 points. However we made up for that by quickly taking the flags back, and having men prepared to make a jump on the next flag while the other was being ported back to safety.
We were playing catch up the whole game, and with about 6 minutes left we were still down 20 points or so. We took 3-2 quickly and pushed 1 up to the cathedral hoping to cap before time ran out. After so many switches from offense to defense, poor crabby was confused as to what was going on and simply mirved the flag room, while schtoofa was bringing the flag in. The flag sits inches from a cap and victory, with about 20 seconds left on the clock. I somehow manage to get behind 3 friends, who all die on the flag to some spam, and do a crab scuttle onto the cap with the flag, bringing the score up to 94-92. 5 seconds later the game ends.
