Writeup:
eXeL over GoW
Tonight we faced off against an old familiar clan on a not so familiar map. It was vidars, not vidars_r, not vidars_r2, not vidars_r_r1, not vidars_r_r1_r, but plain old vidars. I forgot how offense oriented this map was, with the resupplyable bags everywhere and all (ok, I exagerated). The only way to combat O maps is to spam relentlessly and that we did. With our 2 demos in hand, and our 2 hwguys (I wanted 3 demos, but was overruled) we covered the flag in pipes and mirvs. Boy what a beautiful site it was (for us anyways). Well anyways, on to the write up:
R1: GoW's Purgatory (fitting name for a server considering the crap we did tonight)
Rounds go off and both sides go off and screwed around for a couple minutes until the flag appeared. After dm'ing each other to death for a minutes, the flag finally appeared. Finally, we had an objective for this game. Everyone started to concentrate on capturing and defending the flag (like the game was meant to be played) and everyone had a rosy time. Both offenses had there ways with both defenses, just ours more than theirs all thanks to the great gigilo work by our two replacement manwhores (Zeus was out in the real world manwhoring) for the night: da beach (Sin) and the clan nice guy (vio). Oh yeah, Fade was doing his usual 400+ spy lag work, warping around everywhere, and congrats to Dragon on his first official, league-sanctioned, clan Execlsior match. On the d side, it was fireworks city, with the talented BSU demo, Azlan, going at it with our 2 resident spam mongers, ScreamX (congrats on making it as a member) and Thunder. Spam city is all I have to say. Everyone was getting pummeled in our base. It was fun as hell! Anyways, rounds ends with eXeL up 100-60.
R2: eXeL's Match & Practice Back Up (now there's an original server name if I haven't seen one, courtesy of Scream(new member)X!)
This round, we anticipated that GoW would use a engy to attack our EMP magnet Defense (we've experienced the damage from our resident engy Doughnut and knew what an engy could do to this defense). We countered by having fade shadow their engy. Yes, fade was supposedly on offense, but he wandered around our base warping about. He was lagging so badly we thought GoW wouldn't notice our extra defender. I think GoW did notice as they sent men specifically to kill fade. This was an impossible task due to Fade's ability to teleport to different areas of the map. Well GoW was distracted, our resident flag vulture swooped in and stole the flag. Sin wanted to say he had 3 coast-to-coast captures due to his ability to hide and his great timing, appearing when his offensive teammates had disrupted GoW's defense. We know how our offensive players felt when the Sin was stealing their caps and the defense tried to prevent Sin from capping. Unfortunately, Sin was offering free bj's (some mighty nice manwhoring you did there beach) and the D was unable to kill him. Once the dust had settle, eXeL was up 190-30.
Total: exel 290 gow 90
