Funky bi-coastal relationship gets WIGGY
The clan is **KEA**. It stands for "Kill 'Em All". We are /tmp/. It stands for "Thank you sir! May I have another?!?!" Word on the street is that KEA is in a rebuilding phase of sorts. Now I want all of you llamas hanging in #tfcrecruit waiting to hook up with the next poptart clan to sandbag their way through STA Dirt to sit up and pay attention here. Run, don't walk, stroll, amble, or crawl over to #kea and check out the fine folks who play TFC straight up in competitive leagues week in and out, come sunshine or shitstorm.
But I digress. We come to play TFC, eh? As in all long distance relationships, neither one of us can get comfortable in each other's digs. Like a petulant puppy not wanting to share the affections of its master, our server piddled all over the floor. After spreading out plenty of newspaper, we locked our server into the kitchen and headed cross country to KEA's DAMAGE INC. Another issue with bi-coastal loving is lag. While this joy-killer is as inevitable as death and taxes, we have learned to deal with a certain amount of it by issuing special feet-shaped crosshairs to our defensive soldiers.
Round 1 was a gas. Literally and figuratively. It seems that both offenses figured out that good spywork was crucial and thus kept the flags moving at a good clip. The shankings were handed out pell mell, as were the mirvs, rockets, pipes, and giblets. The highlight of the round was someone, how shall I say, not getting into the spirit of the occasion. I had intended to make an AVI of the round and sell it on the Internet as "n00bs Gone wild!!!" but alas, Yohan has told me that all demos of the round have been burned...
Apoligies are owed to our offensive squad. They brought plenty of flags into the base, only to be mercilessly mowed down by the defense. Our only excuse is, "Hey, that there's a long walk back to the respawn mang!"
Round 2 was a little calmer. Despite some really righteous grouping by KEA's O, our defense held strong for most of the round. But as if to thumb his nose at us, one of KEA's spies makes off with a flag in the middle of the second half. I can almost hear him in voicecomms, "Take your shutout and shove it in your CRACK, buddy!" To add insult to injury, our offense, which was bringing in more than enough flags to share, had wised up and were refusing to come in with a flag unless a KEA attack had about wiped us all out. Greedy bastiges!
Yes, flags were capped. In the end, tmp capped a few more than KEA. I guess this means we "win" and get a little checkmark in some admin's spreadsheet somewhere. But to me, the match we played was itself was the real reward. GG KEA. I'm sure you'll be back and kicking our asses up around our ears Real Soon Now...
