OpM over SNAFU
first off, let me say that i absolutely, positively *hate* the bases series and especially bases_r2. so it was with some dread that we started the two week bases cycle. sure enough, we got owned during week one by {MoB}, and didn't figure it would be much better for week 2.
we faced off against SNAFU again. we had a great time playing against them before, and figured if we had to lose again, at least it would be against somebody we like and respect.
both rounds were played on the [OpM!] server, which provided pretty much even pings for all.
r1 started off as things usually do for us on bases, with SNAFU rattling off a couple of quick caps. our O slowly started getting it in gear, and we managed to even take the lead for a minute or two. SNAFU pulled back even, and r1 ended up tied.
omg, we said during intermission, we actually tied somebody on bases! the first glimmers of hope started to appear. back into the server we went, and, naturally, SNAFU started off fast. somehow both our O and D got going a bit, and we caught up and then slowly started pulling away, winning r2 with a little bit of cushion.
that's the first time i've ever won a round on bases, much less a match. maybe now that the monkey is off our back, we won't hate the map quite so much.

GG SNAFU.
This was one of those extremely rare matches, the kind where I remember why I really like playing TFC. I thought the match was extremely well played. There is nothing more fun that playing in one of those matches that you know could go either way. I had a blast playing in a match so close that I could feel the excitement and tension building as the match wore on and the leads went back and forth. I was about to crap myself when your O was working on that flag when RD 1 ended.
I have been playing TFC since mid-2000 and probably lurking on sites like konspiracy and catacombs for about that long and this is the first post I have made. Thanks for the excitement SNAFU.
Oh yeah, and tell your spy (sorry man, I forgot your name) he can have his knife back now ;)
