Ahh, flame wars. How I love coming home to see them. Allow me to go through the series of events.
Everyone shows up at 9ish and we learn that aX is having server troubles and want to play both rounds on our server if it?d decent enough. We all head in, everything seems to be working fine. aX is complaining of the ?loss and choke? they?re getting and generally being disagreeable in mm1. The match starts right on time, everyone had nine people and reasonable pings. The match starts, VE pulls out 3 caps in the first 5 minutes and had a 4th on the way over. aX has had two touches. This is when the server decides to crash (it has since been checked, there is nothing wrong with it, if it continues to misbehave it will be totally reloaded). The pings at the time of the crash are 94 team for VE with 49 low and 162 high. The pings for aX are 93 team with 31 low and 119 high.
At this point everyone went back to irc and bitched. After a long interval while the captains were talking to the admin round 1 was restarted in the ELB server. aX played a much better round than the first five minutes producing a final score of 30 ? 20 in their favor. The ping from the final screen shot of this round are aX with a 58 team ping with 33 being low and 71 being high. VE has a team ping of 131 with a 28 low and 425 high.
Again, everyone went back to IRC for an extended break while the server for the final round was argued. An admin came in to check the server which was stressed tested with as much spam as 18 people can produce. The pings went up but did not put the server to unplayable. At this point aX had two people in with over a 300 ping (at the five minute crash of the aborted round their highest ping was 119). It was decided by the admins that VE had the right to play a round on their server of choice. The match started and server ran until 7 minutes were left in the round. At this point it again froze. The score at this freeze was VE 100 to aX?s 40. Between the beginning of the round and this point aX had substituted out its two 300 pingers giving them an ending team ping of 95 with 34 being low and 118 being high. VE had a team ping of 88 with 47 being low and 142 being high.
To summarize:
5 minute aborted round: VE ? 30, ping 94 aX ? 0, ping 93
Round 1: VE ? 20, ping 131 aX ? 30, ping 58
Round 2 (ended after 23min of play) : VE ? 100, ping 88 aX ? 40, ping 95
Here ends the narration of the rounds. Now for some analysis.
The VE server gave a ping difference of less than 10ms. The whine ?but I had choke and loss? comes quickly to mind to which I say bullshit. I am in Pennsylvania and I have never had a problem with the server, but then I can play effectively with any ping under 200. A 100 ping is ?good? in my book. The aX server had a ping difference of just over 70ms in their favor. No complaints came from VE.
aX had absolutely no problem with people dropping in the first 5 minute round and had a team ping even to that of VE. Where did these 300 pingers come from and where did they go after the round started? If there was dropping problems shouldn?t it have been mentioned in the very beginning? VE had people drop at the aX server but they reconnected. If dropping people was an issue why was VE up by 30 when the server crashed the first time after 5 minutes of play? No one in aX had dropped at that point and no one (except on the VE side) had a ping of higher than 130.
I find it disturbing when people need to find something to blame and cannot accept the fact that they were simply beaten. The overall ping difference was 60ms in favor of aX. Dropping people and the server are clearly not the issue when a team is down 30 ? 0 after 5 minutes of no drops and only wins by 1 cap with a 70ms ping advantage. I understand the frustration. I?ve had plenty of matches where I lost and had bad pings for a round. In this case, however, the pings were in the favor of aX and with a roster of 27 people the inability to find 9 who are not having steam issues that give them connection problems is a poor excuse. I am very curious to see what the results (and resulting excuses) would have been if the second round had been played in its entirety.
Good game guys, I did enjoy the match less all the superfluous banter. I hope your guys can resolve their connection problems in time for next week.

1. After half our guys not being able to connect and the first crash, we were told by an admin that both rounds would be played on our server. That should be end of story, we never should of had to go back to yours only to chance crashing again.
2. Neither of our capts (along with a couple others) could play at all on your server. So in return we had ppl playing shit the never should have (i.e. me playing O).
3. AND MOST IMPORTANT: We were BEATING you that last round UNTIL the server started acting up and we had 3 ppl drop one after the other (QQ, cheesey, and poof). And then guess what?? It crashed AGAIN! Go figure..lol
Also I'd like to note that your 400 pinger in that ss was playing at 200-250, he must of spiked right when round ended and you took that ss. But like I said, pings didn't mean shit, but actually staying connected to yours, not crashing, and not being able to play our regular ppl did mean shit. And as far as feeling bad losing to you guys on your 12th match, this was our 9th, so try not to jizz all over yourselves.

Did your captains also have trouble connecting to your own server too? As I have said already, the score there was only 3 - 2 in your favor when you had a 70ms ping advantage.
Speaking of winning clean, are you trying to say that a team has no right to use their server of choice and must play at a 70ms ping disadvantage? Our server stayed through all the breaks to decided where to play and round 1. It was fine during the stress testing when your 300 pingers showed up.
As fam just said you had no people drop in the first 5 minute round where we were winning 3 - 0 and you also had no 300 pingers. Where did they come from? Were they just there to put on a show for the admins?

Looking at the screen shots between the aborted round 1 and round 1 on the ELB server you've changed exactly two people. You lied. You also neglected to mention the ping difference you had on your server. You don't suppose that had anything to do with it? You lied to the admins when you said the server was giving you loss and that the 300 pingers were all you had (you swapped them out after the match started). Maybe if your people came to practice they'd know what to play for defense.
I grow tired of these poor excuses although they are getting slightly more creative.
The point of having each clan play on their server of choice is to equalize ping and loss. The servers favored aX overall by 60ms. And yet they're the ones complaining. VE had as much trouble on the aX server of choice yet they put the people in who were best able to play and worked through it.
Again, scroll up and read my first post. As you read through it try to think objectively instead of focusing on the fact that you lost and the lies you've been using to justify your loss haven't worked. Every team has players who have difficulty connecting to some servers and have people who ping some servers higher than others. The leagues realized that this is part of the game and to lessen the problems this causes have each team pick a server for one round and allow you to have a roster larger than the 9 that constitute a full team to allow for substitutions. If you need a consistent 50 ping to be able to play there is always the option of LAN parties instead of playing online where some people choose servers on the west coast. You could also take up CS and play in the east coast ladders they have.
The match is over. aX had the advantage in the match. VE won. aX lost. Good game. I find it fun to play even when I have a 100 ping and end up playing a position I didn't practice. I hope your people fix their Steam and other connection issues so they can play next week and attend practice so they know what's going on.
