Writeup:
ES over V
Round1 - We play on Vindicates server, which is extremely laggy. We had a terrible practice before the match which I didn't participate in, so we weren't really sure what to expect from the map and Vindicate. Our offense got inital touches, capping Super Scout in the first 5-10 minutes for 40 points max. Vindicate settled back on D but not too much as we went on to cap again, this time extra grenades for 40 points. The next cap was to be Vindicates, they capped The Beast for 45 points, so I walked into there flagroom grabbed it and capped extra grenades for 30 points. The last 10 minutes or so there was only sparatic touches by both teams as the round ends 110-45, Exemplar Sect.
Round2 - We join our server, restart it about 10 times before realizing we have darkness cfg still set for TFL. Somebody gives Vindicate rcon in mm1, but stickgod is able to be his godly self and fix the cfg/change rcon so people in spec don't mess up the settings. This round starts almost identical as the previous, as we get the first two caps, Super Scout and Extra Grenades for 80 points. Vindicate then grabs flag and gets Superscout, but we follow with two more caps of our own (Quad Bunker and Hot Water. Round2 ends 135-40 Exemplar Sect

Simple, 7-3 prior to this match, not bad for a clan, but by V standard, 7-3 is a slight slump. 6-4 indicates something is not gelling right at this time.

Hey Unforgiven, those words remind me of when people said the same thing after KiN lost 1 match, won and then lost again (they had won 20 in a row prior to that).
People said they were done from dominating, they went 42-2 after that until they retired.

lol, ES certainly outplayed us last night and deserved the win, but to say we're washed up is alittle extreme ;) i predict that in 2 weeks when we get some of our regulars back from spring break/inactivity we should roll off another streak. However, that map made for one hell of a horrible time of tfc..you're lucky to get 25 fps in that yard, coupled with the bad pings..terrible.

V isn't done, we've forfeited twice and lost 3 times in the past 2-3 weeks. A heavy number of our regular guys have been missing, and I have to end up looking through old logs to call inactive people to play for us. We're either going to take 2 week byes or forfeit until our guys are back, I think.

You're right Blashy. They may not be done. I guess with the abundance of top players being picked up lately by top clans (since a few big clans have disbanded) I expect to not see any kind of domination like you mention. And if history tells us anything of the last few tfc years, clans that experience that kind of domination, and then start to catch frequent losses don't stay around long (and if they do, not at that level, ex. SD). It maybe for more reasons than simply losing (tiring of the game for example...V did take a break for a little while). bp, zt, Nx, - many reasons for disbanding, but there are symptons to look out for... hey I'm not against V, I'm simply predicting that the powerhouse is gone - unless some other top clans disband, or something on that level happens. But whether or not V stays around while not dominating has yet to be seen, the above clans didn't.

Wow a little quick to judge aren't we? Once V gets their regulars back they'll be back to normal. Just because they had a few losses as of late doesn't mean they are washed up.

There weren't really any top players picked up by an abundance of top clans, only one I can think of is TDA picking up four 404 guys. The rest of the top players formed aO [which isn't doing awesome], DiE [which has two losses already], and Illum [which also isn't doing awesome].
If you equate good players with good skill, like you seemingly do, then I guess you should look at the recent maps for an idea on why they aren't doing well. Darkness is a very teamplay-oriented map that has been played 6 times in the past 3-4 weeks, and vondruke_l is a new map to everyone, etc.
I think it's ludicrous to look at any one clan after a couple losses and say they've suddenly just lost all their skill. The only time that ever happens is if players quit or, *shock*, they're gone on vacations and spring breaks. Considering that there isn't a major dispersion of top players among all the top clans, you can't really conclude that every other clan out there has gotten *that much* better either, so you're only left with one conclusion : being short, having inactive people play, etc, = frquent losses and forfeits.
