mH over Rabid
Round 1 on the mH server, Rabid goes up early, so we shift our defense to cover water better. Part of that included me moving from the ramp room to the bridge after I don't see a single offensive player for 3 consecutive runs. [Rabid]kev did not approve. We pull it out 52-45.
Round 2 on Rabid server, [Rabid]kev gets the hitbox bug. Server feels pretty laggy on our end, maybe the experience wasn't mutual. Each team caps once early and not much more. Halfway through Scorcher drops from the server and we play with 8 for the remainder, as Steam is being its bitchy self and not allowing anybody to connect. Evidently the mH offense gets provoked by Rabid, because by the end of the round each team is chasing the other around the bridge. Rabid manages to get a flag to the spiral in the last minute, but mH solidifies around it and keeps it from entering the ramp room, preserving our lead, but losing the round 16-19.
mH wins overall, 68-64. And to answer your question [Rabid]kev, this is what you can expect from Plat. You may be able to get away with your chasing bullshit in Gold, but up here clans don't let themselves get shat on. Don't like me playing on the bridge? Tough, why don't you entertain me in the ramp room instead, there are a lot more corners to throw grenades around there.

I hate that map, always the same bullshit happens on it, whether I'm playing GOM or mH the match goes the same way: ovo, yard d, mm1, spy pills in spawn, turtling.
kev was the first rabid in the server it would have been impossible for him to have the hitbox bug (if you even know how the bug works), also he was d engy so it wouldn't have mattered much.
I dont blame you guys I guess, its just a terrible map that provokes that kind of stuff, and I know you guys played with 8 for most of rd2 (even 7, your gd annoying ovo pill throwing spy was afk luckily for most of the round.) We had 8 for alot of the round too, with del dropping every few minutes.

I agree with DG -- when our offense doesn't come after me in the RR and my water HW is getting flooded, I play by the bridge to slow their O down and make them concentrate on messing with me instead of flooding water. Generally they either get slowed down a lot DMing me or conc past me and go into the RR or spiral, so I get what I want either way.
It's just smart play, nothing lame about it.

I adisagree with DG and mac, I think you can always shift behind the D without having to go yard D. In this case you could shift behind the fatty with a soldier playing that doorway and the engy backing him up until the HW gets back into position. When they were unable to crack the water, they would return to the RR.
It would be equally lame (altho way less effective)if the fatty didnt see anyone and started camping his ass on the bridge. Yard D is lame and we all know it, it should be avoided if for no other reason than it ALWAYS leads to the rest of the BS with the OvO and the chasing and whatever.

1) I didnt even know what the hitbox bug was, did i even have it? i read cats thread after match where greg linked me. sounds crazy. it didnt seem like it (died like normal)
2) I never MM1'ed the entire match. Dunno about all those comments directed at me. I never complained about how you played a single instance during the match.

LOL It was your offense doing the o vs o might I remind you. I think it's hilarious you even insinuate that. It was your faggot spy killing our offense, pilling our spawn, and being a general nuisance. We always try to bring a respectful clean game.

Once you occupy a slot in a server, that slot becomes reserved for your steam ID, so that if you disconnect and rejoin you will automatically be assigned that slot. New players are assigned reserved slots before non-reserved slots in the order they were vacated, most recent to oldest.
So, the only way for you to evacuate the slot and still play in the match would be if you had disconnected from the server and a "new" player (player who hasn't been on the server since it restarted, or for 3-4 hours, that's about how long reserved slots seem to stick) joined and took your slot before you rejoined. Alternatively, you could restart the server and make sure the server doesn't fill up.

yard defense isn't wrong. you don't see people bitching about crossover2 strats when 2 HW's are on the bridge/yard. You don't see anyone getting angry at a front door HW on schtop. The fact is, many people get used to clans running a certain strat on a map, and when the clan goes against that and has an HW outside, they get upset.
I'm not going to let their entire offense just flood the water and neglect the rest of our D; I'm going to get on the bridge, potshot, and chase them into the water. I will force them to face more than 1 D or go through the base. Nothing lame with that, they can conc over me and go battlements. My sometimes-yard-D on that 1 map only (tempest) has never incited OvO either, really...
