Jesus what an intense game.
Before the match we were practicing on some server and everything's cool. Unfortunately my buddies neglected to tell me my mic wasn't working. I guess it just slipped their mind... even though my mic icon was coming off and on over a period of about 30 minutes and no noise was being produced. GG! Anyway...
RD1: Everything is running smoothly and we build up a 3 cap lead. However we wasted a lot of time losing the flag in the water just before we capped. Then THOA caps ... and caps ... and caps, and then all of a sudden it's neck and neck. Somewhere along the line I was able to pull a miracle run cap to put it at 6-6, and shortly after rat got one out to the yard. Spam comes flying from everywhere to stop the last cap, but somehow rat comes back and caps it to end the round 7-6.
RD2: Almost immediately the OvO heats up. In order stop/piss off their offense our demoman(s) had the brilliant idea to heave mirvs at the bottom spawn, and in the process kill everyone leaving the spawn. If it was possible to get to the enemy base the spawning offensive soldier(s) would potshot you to uselessness in retaliation. Despite this though the OvO never became too excessive and just made the match that much more intense.
The whole round was pretty balanced. I -think- we pulled ahead at one point, although this pretty much sums up how it ended: <noodle> i had no idea where the flag was teh whole last 5 min of the match
As the final minute was ticking down we were tied at 7-7. They got the flag out to the yard and all hell broke loose. It turned into a massive OvD with us defending (spamming) the flag to the very end. It ended up in water and I thought we would be able to hold it, but somehow they managed to get it out. A THOA soldier finally swooped down and capped it to make the game an overall tie of 14-14. Very well played THOA. On to overtime...
OT: The game started normally as neither team did a true rush for the flag. Very quickly we started moving the flag to the stairs. I accidentally threw it in the bags and everyone was like gfg nice toss. However we were able to get it down the stairs and out the bments to cap. Unfortunately a short while through one of their offense dropped :(
