Writeup:
nLv over ADSL
We last played ADSL on scrummage and it was a doozy. Almost the opposite of tonight, actually. Tonight we finished up with rd2 right as 24 was starting on FOX, so rather than get to my writeup, I hurried to the TV to watch it.
Then I ended up remembering I was in some online poker tournament, and played (and lost) in that for the next while. Now here I am, a couple hours after we said our GG's, with this tiny sonofabitch "writeup" form on STA's match results page. And I'm tired, so this is gonna be a short one :[
Round 1
-------
For the first time in God knows how long, nLv actually had a FULL pre-match practice. It was almost unheard of. I wish I'd gotten a demo of it or something. I mean... this was the WORKS. We had a strat, a lineup, positions... EVERYTHING. WTF?! I thought I taught these guys a little better than that :[
Anyways, we seem pretty well set-up and ADSL is prompt enough to get us started only a few minutes past 9:30 EST. They only have 8 but are hopefull that a 9th will show up some time during the match.
So things get started and within the first 5 minutes, ADSL's 8 quickly becomes 7, and it stays that way for all but maybe the last few minutes of rd1 :[
Against ADSL's 2 Offense, we decide it would be in our best interest to take advantage of their short staff(s) (lozlsi), and we run an extra O.
We start off tied at 2-2 for a while, but once we hit our groove, we don't stop bringing 'em home. The remaining 20 minutes of rd1 see ADSL with little to no movement, even once their 8th player rejoins. In between their sexy parties, the nLv D blocks all traffic and holds tight.
A clean and fun round, which isn't too common in this day and age - especially against a clan playing 7v9, so gg rd1!
Rd1 Offense: me, sid, funk, fury
Rd1 Defense: sponge, met, whore, ber, sub
Rd1 Score: 11-2 nLv!
Round 2
-------
So back in IRC we try to decide what to switch up, if anything, for rd2. We hear that they're going to have 9 in rd2, so for the most part we opt to leave things the same until we decide we've got a healthy enough cushion.
We head into our server for a change, only to find that metallix's ping is acting up. Against his wishes, Sid plays Demo in Met's place for rd2. We also decide to switch things up mid-round if our cushion is good enough.
Our scout rush yields some nice results. I get stuck on the lip of the flag ramp, cuz i sux, but Metallix is right behind me and gets a quick toss. The now full ADSL team is doing some damage on our end too, getting some nice pulls. They end up ahead by 1 or 2.
This round is pockmarked by mass nLv suicide and teamkilling. We were angry because we all knew that the new president on 24 was going to be a douchebag and get Jack Bauer in trouble. And wtf is up with Edgar? He's gonna do something retarded as fuck and screw things up big time.
On the plus side, Jack finally told that ho, Audrey to stfu and know her role. And on top of ALL things......
PRESIDENT
FUCKING
PALMER
He will make an appearance in next week's episode!
Where was I? Oh yeah, rd2. Jack Bauer's the fucking man. And his daughter's hot. But not as hot as Met's coast-to-coaster in rd2 during one of our sprees.
We had a few sprees in the middle of things to keep the rd2 score very close. In the end we hit another groove and gog with it to pull ahead and hold the lead.
The rd2 ADSL team proves to be a worthy adversary, but we at nLv pride ourselves in our flags, and only give them up for the right price: Approximately 3 fellates.
So the last 45 seconds of rd2 are a disgrace. ADSL should be ashamed! However, Jack Bauer is awesome, and his wife died for your sins... so you are forgiven.
Rd2 is clean and fun as well, and like our last matchup on scrummage, showed a nice teeter-totter effect.
Rd2 Offense: met, me, funk, fury
Rd2 Defense: sid, sub, whore, ber, sponge
Rd2 Score: 10-8 nLv!
Final
-----
Well, I don't have much else to say. ADSL's a good group and always a tough matchup. I'll spare you any more ramblings about 24 and the awesomely, stupendously, incredibly, amazingly, extraordinarily, ridiculously adventurous, treacherous, dangerous, and dare I say SEXY life of Jack Bauer.
I'm a huge fan of throwflag. I'm also a huge fan of 24.
Final Score: 21-10 nLv!
GG!
