nLv over dC
what an intense game this was!
We had never played dC before, and honestly their roster seems rather intimidating for their current rank on the ladder(s). I figured it would either be close or a total blowout in favor of dC.
Everyone's prompt tonight although all of our new recruits with the exception of mexi seem to be afk taking part in various star wars related dress-up games. Luckily we still had our usual reliable 8 to play and fill in the holes with. Just like sid fills in the holes of male airplane pilots.
Round 1

Off to dC's server we go. I seem to be the only nLv'er that likes it, but fuck the rest of them because I'm the only one that matters. After a little practice tonight and some knowledge of what went wrong against VOO last week, we settled down for a good round.
I THINK THINK THINK nLv pulled the first cap, although neither rushes yielded anything of substance. nLv takes a 1-0 lead I think, but dC follows closely behind. nLv pulls to 2-1, and dC once again closes the gap. We go cap for cap for a long time with both offenses working really hard and both D's playing pretty well.
dC's engy seemed to get overwhelmed sometimes, but he had the rest of his D to fall back on.
Somewhere in the middle dC picks up the pace and pulls two quick ones to take the lead. I think they may have even had a 2 cap lead at one point before nLv decided to stop playing grabass and actually get some flags. With the funkster at the helm of our tumutluous rage, we keep making pulls and inching flags on their way out and close the gap to eventually tie things up with only a few minutes left.
Our D decides not to let this one go, and Stratus, who may have been misplaced as our demoman, put on his game face and sealed the deal for rd1 for us.
nLv makes a final pull with about 45 seconds left. We're almost out the front door with a conc primed when out of nowhere a barrage of dC nades, medics, sols, and whatever the hell else they had hit that front door. The flag stops there and the round ends with a nailbiting tie!

In between rounds everyone makes their opinions known about dC's server. Grudgingly I ask schtoofa to play rd2 in ours and he accepts. I hate our server -_-
Mexi comes in to Demo for stratus, and Stratus hits the hay. Everyone heads in and after a little lineup confusion and one restart we go live. Once again our rush doesn't give us much to work with. Nor does dC's.
Eventually things pick up and we start to see a little repetition of rd1 going on. Cap for cap for a while before nLv takes the lead this time around. Everything and everyone is flowing and clicking really nicely on this. Our spies are doing awesome and me... well... I steal all the caps so that I can save some face.
nLv takes our biggest lead of the night at 3 or 4 caps. It doesn't last long though. dC starts hammering back bringing us to within 1 cap again. It's crunch time and I drop back to play FD sol. I'm a horrendous soldier, so chances are I only helped dC :o
Nonetheless, nLv pulls one final and hard-fought cap out of the dC base to leave nLv up by 2 at the end.
In IRC I hear complaints of OvO, yet not once the entire round did I see any Offensive crossfire, nor did I ever fire a shot at anyone other than a flag carrier, nor was I ever shot at. A perfectly clean, fun and awesome game on my end. Not sure what all the OvO mulisha was ocmplaining about was, but it certainly couldn't have been as bad as he was making it out to be...
I suppose now he knows what it's like to live in rage's shoes ;o

Aside from the OvO complaints, I think it was a great game. Never having played dC before, it was all that I was hoping it would be and they put up a really good fight and almost sent it into OT on a few occasions - where we certainly would have lost.

I played O for the first time in like 6-7 months. And i owned rd1. I wasnt in rd2.....thats why we lost.
