TGA over BD
Great game tonight. Good clean gameplay from both teams and we all had a lot of fun.
We didn't quite know what to expect coming in to this match having fought so little, but we soon recognized the strengths and weaknesses of our oppenent. BD offense came at us and managed to get their first cap within the first 3 minutes of the game. At 7 minutes in to the game, BD managed to get another flag by our defensive team giving them a two point lead. Finally, nearly 9 minutes in to the game, we captured our first flag which boosted our confidence and made us realize that we could turn this game around.
From that point both teams fought for eachother's flag but BD managed to raise the score to 4 - 1 in their favour. The scores steadilly increased for both teams with BD having the upper hand.
BD was consistently leading by 30 points for some time. Our offense tightened it up slightly but BD still had an interchanging 20 and 30 point lead.
The leaders decided it would be best to rotate a couple of our offensive and defensive players in order to combat BD's offensive and defensive strategies. The change also amped our strategy up from what was a relatively linear style of gameplay. The rotation nicely complemented each of our player's strengths and we quickly closed the seemingly ever-increasing gap.
While our modified defense locked down the flagroom, with BD at 60 points, our newly shaped offensive team raised our score from 40 to 50 to 60, and finally, to 70 in the last several minutes of gameplay winning the round just before the buzzer. That marked the end of Round 1. 70 - 60. Great fighting from both teams and a great comeback from our team. The pressure was on for Round 2!
Round 2 was a little less exciting as far as comebacks go. We were able to capture the first flag, but BD was in steady pursuit and capped their first flag a few minutes later. Both of our offensive and defensive teams stepped up the gameplay a bit and we were able to capture two more flags consecutively. At this point, BD's offensive team really turned up their gameplay and were coming on stronger than ever. Our defensive team let a flag go in the commotion but then stepped up to block any further flag captures by BD. While fires raged in our flagroom, our offensive team managed to capture another flag before the end of the round finishing the game with a 40 - 20 score.
Great game BD. We really enjoyed playing against you guys. You showed good sportsmanship and fought cleanly. We hope to play against you again in the future. GG :)
