nLv over |3eer

I'm gonna try to make this short, but as well all know, that never happens.

It had been a while since we got to play |3eer, and the last couple of times we played, I remembered having some great matches. For the most part, tonight was no different.

I was late getting in tonight, so we hurried to put a strat together and head into |3eer's server a couple minutes late.

Round 1
-------
Things start off good enough. We have a strat that seems to accomodate some of our D playing in spots that they don't really want to. It's a shutout round with nothing of consequence until maybe 5 minutes in or so.

Realizing that we're running 2 engies (including 1 swing engy), one of |3eer's meds decides to start shooting and chasing our O in the yard. I remind them that excessive OvO is illegal in STA, and he claims that he's their 6th D. Fine with us!

Unfortunately, he didn't quite realize that when you run a DM'ing yard Medic as a D player, you inadvertently cause the other team's O to start shooting all of your meds. So I just started shooting everyone that I thought might be him.

nLv made its first pull, and |3eer responded by dropping 3 or 4 players from the server in rapid succession. KD claims we exceded 7 D somehow. If my math's correct, however, at this point |3eer was running something along the lines of:

- 2 SG's (swing engy)
- 2 Soldiers (1 high, 1 low)
- Demo on flag
- HW lobby
- D medic in the yard

Now it's been a while since 2nd grade math... but that looks like 7 to me. Guess the poor fella slept through those classes. Either way, we don't complain, since we're the ones winning, and we're the ones with 9 players in the server.

I spend a good deal of time alt+tab'd in IRC, trying to find out if they were quitting rd1, and trying to dispute us for some unholy reason that they would have lost in the end anyways.

I alt+tab back to TFC after a while to find that they're about to get 9 again. Everyone deals with their D medic, and miraculously enough, |3eer holds us off better with 6 players than they did with 9.

2 of our caps come once their 9 are back in the server, and this shameful excuse for a round of TFC comes to an end.

Apologies to |3eer for flaming. Most of them were innocent bystanders that got the short end of the stick cuz KD couldn't keep his hands to himself in the yard. Run a D medic and you run the risk of having your meds shot. Simple enough guys...

Anyways... round 1 ends with nLv up.

Rd1 Offense: ar6, nomad, (shade), me
Rd1 Defense: (shade), ber, tempest, ied, whore, shake
Rd1 Score: 3-0 nLv!

Round 2
-------
So 15 minutes go by in IRC while I wait to see whether they're going to try to find some miraculous thing to dispute us for. I check out #sta-tfc to find that they're already quite busy with some 2bH vs. bb^ nonsense, and continue to wait for a response.

Finally I see that |3eer kicked KD from the clan, who in turn responded:

[Kdd] anytime sorry i had to be a dick in the last match but having to run 2 sgs on prolifique is pathetic

I suppose dm'ing yard medics is a much better alternative. Flame on, little guy!

So with that guy out of the way, |3eer and I exchange our mutual apologies and decide to go for a much cleaner rd2. And that's just what we got.

Rd2 we decide, that for the sake of the Virgin Mary and TFC, we're not gonna run our 2 SG strat until we think our lead from rd1 is in jeopardy.

|3eer makes the first move and we drop shade back to swing engy. |3eer then makes the second move, showing that even against 2 sg's, it's possible to cap on this map (2 of our 3 from rd1 came against 2 sg's I think).

Finally our D clenches tight, and our O gets things in motion. We pull our first two out pretty gradually, doing a lot of damage from the upper ramp.

Everyone but me makes some nice pulls. I spend the majority of this round missing my concs in the RR (but hey, it beats IRC!). |3eer runs a solid Soldier up top, and on the rare occasion that he got overwhelmed by us attacking in bulk, we tended to get some movement.

We tied things up, and then relayed, pulling us into the lead. Our final 2 came pretty slowly... very slowly, actually. I got more caltropped than I think I'd ever been, and crawled at a snails pace across the yard to bring our 3rd or 4th flag in.

This round is much better for both sides. A 3-0 deficit from rd1 is hard to come back from, and I'm happy to say that the rd2 |3eer team was very classy and much more fun.

Rd2 Offense: (shade), me, fru, nomad
Rd2 Defense: (shade), whore, shake, ber, tempest, ied
Rd2 Score: 50-20 nLv!

Final
-----
It's too bad that the nonsense from rd1, and dropping to 6 players cost |3eer so many caps going into rd2. I suppose if that round were overturned, they'd still be in the same boat, since we won rd2.

Either way, rd1 aside, rd2 was a lot of fun, and proof that excuses like "I can't conc with such good ping!" mean nothing when the next round you say "I can't conc with such bad ping!"

A hearty gg to the majority of |3eer. Very glad we played a rd2 and didn't waste a great night of TFC. See you next time

Final Score: 80-20 nLv!

I wasn't kicked from the clan, told them an hour before the match and right before the match to remove me from all the rosters. No point being in a clan who bans a player from practice b/c he tells someone to do something making us short for most the time, and being in a clan where 2 people get listed for the same hack one a month after its been out that its logging.

Why'd you have to play and ruin rd1 then? :\
