Writeup:

nLv over KoB

Tonight we spent about 30 minutes practicing pipezone, trying to remember what strat we last used that we got raped with the last time the map came around. As it turned out, noen of us could really remember, and everyone wanted to play roaming DM'er instead of any real position.

As fate would have it, we got lucky when KoB showed up with only 6 guys. We waited until about 9:15 and then headed into their server to play openfire_lowgrens 8v8 instead. That way everyone could be happy.

Round 1
-------
KoB manages to field a 7th just in time, and I get pawned off of the nLv roster to play for them to make it a full 8v8. nLv brought out the first flag, I think, but KoB was soon in the lead. KoB held their lead for a good portion of the round, thanks entirely to my amazing skills at this game of Team Fortress Classic. I single-handedly get KoB up, but then highos is feeling destructive, so he counters my awesomeness by somehow causing us to lose the lead... :(

Anyways, sponge is a lamer and plays yard D a lot, which some might say is standard on openfire_l, and some might not. Whether it was lame or not (it was annoying... I don't know if I'd call it lame... I mean... he was pretty bad), it managed to spark some OvO on KoB's side, and soon nLv was doing it back. But I don't think it got too out of control. A few pryos and whatnot, but I seemed ok.

So round 1 was fun, and I did amazing, and killed lots of nLv'ers, which is something I rarely get to do. KoB also tk'd me a lot, which was not fun.

Rd1 Score: 50-30 nLv!

Round 2
-------
KoB finally fields an 8th player of their own and everyone heads back in for a supposed rd2 of openfire_lowgrens. Once we're in the server though, everyone seems to want to try out Hellion. I had just downloaded it about 5 minutes before we started Round 1, and thought it looked pretty fun.

So highos went to upload the map and everyone else diligently downloaded it. One restart later we go live and I get to play for the good guys on nLv.

nLv takes the lead and it's not long before people are just goofing around. KoB runs a sniper or two, who incidentally were fucking amazing. I crater trying to conc about 3 dozen times. Sid and shake do a lot of tk'ing and probably do something good once in a while as well.

KoB OvO's a little but everyone's kind just goofing around. Eventually they appear to have 5 D, so sponge builds an SG and we start playing lame. But using my administrative sex appeal, I manage to make everyone on my team feel guilty for being assholes, and soon enough we're running a legit strat again.

Tempest and Ber run dual engies in our FR and get the job done, and tempest even gets a wrench, which means nothing, cuz we all know it was just luck. I also got wrenched, and was sad.

So this was a pretty fun map... probably would have been more fun if both teams knew that it actually counted for something rather than just a goof-off type deal. Lots of rampslides, which I conveniently could not pull off, and lots of cool neat things, like a roof that gets in the way all the fucking time.

Sid has a gigantic head, which he probably uses as a blunt object to hit things with. I managed to rampslide off of it by mistake. I think so anyways. Come to think of it, that's probably impossible. So... yeah...

Rd Score: A lot-A little nLv!

Final
-----
I'm glad that KoB at least managed to play, and play seriously for the most part. Was a good game either way and I had fun. See you guys next time, hopefully with a full roster :)
