nLv over [inferno]
Second time facing off against inferno this week. We snuck by them on Monday but not by much... although my memory is fading with old age. Tonight was Well, one of my least favorite maps, but inferno usually helps make things interesting for us :o
I was playing Garry's Mod up until like 15 minutes before game-time, and kept thinking how much fun TFC would be it if had physics prop Sofas.
Round 1
-------
Umm, it's a little slow round but actually sort of fun. I've decided that the amount of fun I have on Well, is proportional to the amount of runs I make down the water tunnel. I made very few, and wasn't totally miserable.
inferno's front layer of defense holds up pretty well this round, and they all seem to click into place. The same could be said for nLv's D, except tempest was playing front door soldier, so it couldn't have been that good. loserville does most of the work I think, while the rest of us just pick up the loose ends.
Details are a little hazy right now, but I guess we did ok. Actually it's all coming back to me! We were up 4-1 I think for a while, and then inferno got a second wind and closed the gap. At one point it was 4-3 with inferno about to tie things up, but instead we capped and... yeah.
Also during the round, inferno's server decides to go bitch-titties on us, and a couple people from both teams have their pings shoot up to 300+ for almost 5 minutes :[ We were none too pleased.
Was a good round...
Rd1 Offense: me, loserville, ghost, nomad
Rd1 Defense: sponge, ied, tempest, ber, agile
Rd1 Score: 50-30 nLv!
Round 2
-------
inferno starts this round off with a cap on one of their first couple of runs. They then get a relay but somehow we manage to hold it -- most likely no thanks to tempest.
We realize we were only up 2 from rd1, so we might actually have to play for keeps this round. inferno's D is a lot more porous this round, with their front soldiers doing the best they can, but still a good number of our guys slipping by.
We build a slow and steady lead, while our D plays Lockdown. About halfway through, maybe, the snipers and pyros start showing up. By then we're up 4 or 5 probably, and we've got a lot of momentum still.
sponge decides to snipe, and hits Timex/Time/Whatever with his AR, and he gets cranky, and then everyone gets cranky. It deteriorates in the yard, but inferno still has a few dedicated D. nLv gets our full O behind their D at one point, and go on a spurt of relays that last more or less the rest of the round.
3 Meds in the FR, 1 gets the flag, tosses it. inferno kills 1 med. 2 meds in the FR, 1 gets the flag, tosses it. inferno kills 1 med. 1 Med in the FR, gets the flag, tosses it. inferno kills 1 med. No more Meds jumping on the bed. But we basically rinse and repeat that for a while, and Im guessing inferno wasn't really trying at that point, so it's not much to brag about, but I will anyways, because I'm amazing.
A good round again up until the last couple of minutes (and on a better server) :)
Rd2 Offense: same
Rd2 Defense: same
Rd2 Score: 140-10 nLv!
Final
------
Not much else to say. I wouldn't mind some variety though, so hopefully we don't meet up with you guys any time in the too-near future.
Final Score: 190-40 nLv!

we werent even letting that many people by.. just so happened that every person who did get by got the flag somehow.. and usually brought it out through the attic, into the batts, tossed in yard, capped, and relayed
doesnt help when your team starts off with demo AND engy in the flagroom and then has no one watching attic all round, and then decides to have one person go offense and pretty much fuck over the rest of the defense and leave them having a shitty ass time for half of the round
add to it that people were talking about losing on purpose before the match so we didnt have to move up to 2a and you have a pretty shitty match for those who actually tried (and basically wasted 3 hours of our time)

i forgot to mention that the best part of the match was round1 when eric would hit his key to transmit in teamspeak and the peanut-butter-jelly-time song would play in the background and we all kept yelling at him and he didn't know what was going on
