9 vs 9 Win -- Celibacy Broken
Dear Diary,
Imagine us lying in bed with our arms behind heads, blowing metaphorical smoke rings at the ceiling.
Yes, although we've been getting some 5 vs 5 groping in on the sides, it's been a while since we went all the way in 9 vs 9. That all changed tonight after we managed to lull that jezelbel, TFL 3a, into a sense of suitable indifference with all our tired talk of the inadequacy of science to define our role in the greater cosmos, the viability of high-yeild bonds in the New Economy, and the relative merits of various sentry gun placements on Tempest_r2.
URF were there... they were the bartenders, the piano players, the people who worked the coatcheck room and squinted resignedly at the 2 greasy quarters they got for a tip.
Round 1 went fairly smoothly... we'd remembered to brush our teeth, we were wearing that good shirt that a former partner (long since departed) had picked out for us, you know the one that really brought out our eyes, and the story about going to our beloved aunt's funeral on that rainy October morning really helped clear the waterway for us if you know what I mean. Defenses fell apart while our resolve remained, for the time being, firm, and the round ended 62-21.
Round 2 second thoughts almost got the better of us. One of our "members" dropped shortly after we began, and in the ensuing confusion URF knocked repeatedly on the door and asked us if we were aware that this room was rented by the hour. Somehow we shuffled through to the end however, and although we'd lost this battle 32-41, overall we'd scored enough to make this something we could at least bear to scrawl in this journal, abandoned underneath a pile of magazines on the nightstand for so long.
Final tally: 94-62 . GG URF, and sorry about the mess in the restroom.
