Decoys of Hostility vs. Deez Nutz
Monday, December 17th, 2001
Three months ago today marked DoH's embark back to the 9v9 realm of TFC. We played cTz that night, won, had a blast, clean game and remembered why we play this game. This evening, marking that glorious 3 month anniversary was no different, as we faced |DN|, and had one of the best matches to date in DoH history.
Round 1 - [DoH] Stomping Grounds
After Bye last week, we had to regroup after a tough loss, but a scrim with Kos the evening before this helped a bunch. Things started pretty close to on time, unfortunately we were forced to play on SG, where recently there has been nasty PL/Lag issues on Vidars....strange. Both teams hovered around 110-120 latency, and this got started relatively slow on both sides. DoH got the first pull, running a relay off of it, but DN was quick to respond, always one step behind us, pulling even several times. TKs were rampant as chica's cramming went to her head. Nuker showed us what we cruited him for and held up very nicely on D. A late surge by the DoH spots the Decoys a 2 cap lead, nice work on the organaztion gfs. DN has one on its way out when the round ends, DoH 70, DN 50.
Round 2 - [DoH] Stomping Grounds
After some irc whoring and some GGs were exchanged, we started back into Stomping Grounds. A few switches were made on the defense and the O was revamped with *blushes* yours truly. Things started blazing for DN as they brought some coordinated attacks. Props to Jeff for getting some nice tosses and movements, GJ bud. Finally the Decoys get the offensive surge they needed. Relays and movements are going wild on both sides, but yet, no outside dm, no chase. Class act is DN, you guys rocked on that. Cap for cap, relay for relay, DoH trailed by as many as 3, and led by as many as 1. Down by 1 with about 4 mins left, we get the pull we need! Taking it to a tie. And then the feared O rush hits, reaping the DoH D for 2 caps in the last 4 mins. DN EEEEKed, and i DO mean eeked, the tying cap out, with about 3 seconds left. Frustration for DoH, Rejoice for the Nuttz. And so OT it is, as DN takes it 120-100.
OVERRRRTIME - SG Yet AGain
Ah yes, mett has to go to bed. Thats just pleasant, leaving the rusty veteran to pipe. Everyone is frantic, TELEFRAG. DOH! We start pretty quickly, DoH nabbing a touch, and...then....a denial. WHAT! DN gets one to the floor and we start to get ancy, hoping for an O surge. Nothing. DN moves it...more...uh oh. Well, SPiral, RR, FRONT ROOM! And the sound that every D rejoices upon hearing, we nabbd a flag. And its going. GFS went stealth and ran it....far. Their Flag! Our Base! GFS takes it for the team, dies and tosses it, and like that, we did it. When things looked their worst the TAMU Aggie bailed us out! Great Game DoH O, Sofa, Angel, GFS and Reb. Thanks MAD for jack poo and a laggy RW.
Thank you DN for an amazing game, with an amazing ending. One I'll remember for the ages. This is why I play the game, and I hope you enjoyed your evening. GG and Gnite, GL next week.
