We knew 3 things were certain about this match: 1. It was going to be tough. 2. It was going to be fun. 3. One of our clans was going to get its first win on this map. We were not disappointed on any point.
Rd1- I had the luxury of being able to watch this round from the safe, secure comfort of the Hltv server. I could see that Kos had some ping problems, but I could also see that they played tough even with those issues. I think one of their guys was pinging above 600 all round. The round started out pretty fast for /tmp, as /tmp/Greenbudz (yeah, I know I didn?t include your many guild tags Budzie, mostly because I can?t remember ?em all :), managed to get a couple of quick caps. Our offense, Blanks, Kersk, Yohan, Qucksilver and some timely emps by Caridwen gave Budzie all the space he needed to start a steady stream of flag to their courtyard. The problem for /tmp arose about halfway through the round when that stream dried up. At one point in time /tmp was ahead something like 39-6, but only managed to get 4 more flags into the courtyard the remaining half of the round. Our defense, Pink fuzz, Ranger Peck, Cyn and Caridwen (were you everywhere last night?), did a great job to keep Kos out of our base for most of the round. At the same time Kos began chipping away at /tmp?s lead. By the end of the round, Kos managed to narrow /tmp?s lead to 44-16.
Rd2 - This round was played on their server and looked like pings were even all the way around. Which kind of sucks if you play for Kos. The least you can ask for is a ping advantage on your home server. But now that /tmp didn?t have a ping advantage, I knew we were in for it. /tmp also had a severe handicap this round: me. Not sure if somebody died or something but they let me play. Despite my presence on the offense, Budzie, with Strom, Yohan and Kersk clearing the way, still managed to get a quick cap and give us a small, albeit, temporary lead. But again, around halfway through the round, Kos put it together and started hammering our defense. So much so, that in the last few minute of the round they gave themselves the over-all lead. With time running out, Budzie dives home another cap, to narrow their lead to 28-52. Our defense this time held out just enough. The final total score was 71-68 /tmp
Another match against Kos decided in the last few seconds of the rd. My heart was really pumping by the end there. Thanks for the match Kos. Not only did you guys play tough, you guys played with class. More clans should take your example of how a clan should play. Win OR lose. You guys rock!!!
